Acne - Symptoms & Treatment
Acne is a basically occurs on the face, neck, shoulders, back, and chest. Acne is a common skin disorder resulting from the action of hormones on the skin's sebaceous glands. This leads to plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions commonly zits or pimples. Acne is basically in adolescents and young teenagers. Acne usually occurs on the face, neck, shoulders, back, and chest. Acne can be a heredity many factor. Acne is so common that it's considered a normal part of growing from a Childerns to an adult. Acne affects most teenagers to some extent. However, the disease is not depending to any age group; adults in their 20s - even into their 40s - can get acne. People who have rosacea also may develop a thickening of the skin on the forehead, chin, cheeks, or other areas.
Symptoms of Acne
There are two main types of acne. The basic information is as follows:
1. Non-Inflammatory:- In Non-inflammatory acne, there are usually just a few whiteheads and blackheads on the face. A relatively mild type of acne, Non-Inflammatorycan often be treated effectively with nonprescription medicines. The majority of people with acne have Non- Inflammatory acne.
2. Inflammatory: In Inflammatory acne, the whiteheads become inflamed, and red pimples and pustules develop. In its most severe type, inflammatory acne can cause disfiguring cysts and deep, pitting scars of the face, neck, back, chest and groin. Prescription drugs and sometimes surgery are needed to treat inflammatory acne.
There are several symptoms and conditions associated with rosacea. Acne can take the following forms. these are
- Whiteheads.
- Blackheads.
- Pimples.
- Cysts.
Depending on the extent or the severity, the doctor will recommend the Acne Medication or Acne remedies to help cure acne. Acne treatments may be topical or systemic. The doctor may suggest a combination of oral & topical medicines to help cure acne.
Causes of Acne
Thera are many causes of acne. some causes are below:
Acne is a skin disease which is mainly causes when oil (sebaceous) glands come to life around puberty, when these glands are stimulated by male hormones that are produced in the adrenal glands of both boys and girls. The oil glands, which are located just beneath the skin. Acne can be caused due to wrong eating habits and chronic constipation. Acne is also caused due to a devitalised condition of the skin which is a result of unhygienic living habits, excessive consumption of tea, coffee, alcohol or tobacco, and sedentary habits, which lead to indigestion and general debility. Bacteria which live in everyone's skin but generally mind their own business, feast on this oil, multiply, and cause the surrounding tissues to become inflamed.
Treatment of Acne
There are many ways of acne treatment. some are below:
Acne treatment using Vitamins:- Two vitamins, namely, niacin and vitamin A have been used successfully to treat acne. Vitamin therapy should comprise the intake of 100 mg niacin, three times daily, and 50,000 international units of vitamin A, three times daily. Vitamin E, 400 mg, should be taken once daily. This therapy should be continued for a month.
Acne treatment using Zinc:- Zinc should be taken in therapeutic doses of 50 mg three times a day. Zinc is available in tablet and in capsule form. In tablet form, it is available as Zinfet - 200 mg (Yash Pharma, Bombay). The patient can take a quarter tablet so as to get 50 mg of zinc. In capsule form, zinc is available as Ulseal 220 mg (Tam Pharmaceuticals). One-fourth of the powder inside the capsule can be taken as a single dose.
Acne treatment using Coriander and Mint Juice: A teaspoon of coriander juice, mixed with a pinch of turmeric powder, is another effective home remedy for pimples and blackheads.
Acne treatment using Cucumber:- Grated cucumber applied over the face, eyes, and neck for fifteen to twenty minutes has been found effective. It is the best tonic for the skin of the face.
Acne treatments include killing the bacteria that are caused by the blocked follicles, reducing the secretion of oils from the glands, normalizing the follicle cell lifecycle, and exfoliating the skin. For pomade acne, treatment consists of these options:
- If using pomade to decrease scalp dryness, try applying pomade one inch behind the hairline.
- If using pomade to style or make hair more manageable, try applying pomade to the ends of the hair only to avoid contact with the scalp and hairline.

- Doctors suggest the following to clear up mild acne:
- Get a nonprescription acne medicine and apply regularly. Over-the-counter drugs containing sulfur, resorcinol, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide, are all effective for treating mild acne.
- Use ordinary hygiene on affected areas, washing your face once or twice daily with your usual soap or cleanser. Deodorant soaps may be used, but they are of no particular value for acne.
- Do not scrub or use a loofa. Friction makes acne worse.
- Do not pick or squeeze. This may worsen scarring.
- If home treatments do not work, acne can be treated effectively by your dermatologist. Options may include:
- Topical treatments such as retinoids (tretinoin, tazarotene, or adapalene) or antibiotics (benzoyl peroxide, clindamycin)
- Oral antibiotics
- Hormonal medications like oral contraceptives
